One of the questions we field most often at Lawson is, “Is the Cloud secure?” The answer is a resolute “yes.”

The more detailed response, in fact, is the Cloud is more secure than most enterprise IT organizations. A bold statement? Absolutely. However, when you analyze the security efforts of Cloud infrastructure providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), you quickly become aware of the significant investments they make in security. Even with its partners, AWS protects its Cloud security information, and rightfully so. That said, last week AWS released an updated white paper on security and introduced a new white paper on compliance, the AWS Risk and Compliance White Paper.

These are a must read for anyone considering the Cloud. A comparison to your own enterprise security is also strongly encouraged. You’ll be surprised at how secure the Cloud is and how much you have to gain.
