Gartner is projecting a 21 percent increase in SaaS revenue growth in 2011 with revenues in excess of $12 billion.  By 2015 Gartner is projecting revenues from SaaS based solutions to be in excess of $21 billion. Tom Eid, research vice president at Gartner attributes the growth in this manner, “This is occurring as tighter capital budgets demand leaner alternatives, popularity and familiarity with the model increases, and interest in platform as a service (PaaS) and cloud computing grows.”  Mr. Eid expands his explanation further by saying, “Initial concerns about security, response time and service availability have diminished for many organizations as SaaS business and computing models have matured and adoption has become more widespread.”  At Lawson Software, we would certainly concur with these findings and are very excited about the growth potential of this delivery model.
